Westward Ho 2015

Then on I-90 to Glacier NP. It’s only Sept 9th so we are doing good. Quick stop at Sturgis SD to say we had been there even tho ghost town at this time of year. With one overnight stay at Mountain Range CG Columbus MT, we arrive at North American RV Park on the west border of the park.  Not fancy but worked for us. We drove north to the park along the west side of Flathead Lake but in hind site the east side is easier and shorter. Good highways.
The weather at Glacier was in the 80s and sunny. The ‘Road to the Sun’ highway (which we drove several times) was narrow and winding up the mountains but the only snow we saw was at Logan’s Pass along the way. Our Senior Passes got us into the park for free and we went daily. So much beauty and we did see a Grizzly Bear and a Black Bear. John, Greg and Kathie hiked the Hidden Lake Nature Trail from Logan’s Pass where they saw Hoary Marmots and a Colubian Ground Squirrel. They said the views were amazing.
